The house welcomes you through antique, solid wooden double doors into a cosy sitting room, with built in log burning stove for winter warmth and lending to the charming ambience, currently used as a very comfortable day room. An archway leads to a separate dining room which opens into a very spacious farmhouse kitchen with gas hob, electric oven and Spanish style wood burning aga. There is also a large walk-in pantry which houses the washing machine and ample storage space. Directly off the kitchen is a covered patio with glass curtains which can be opened in the summer, or closed in the winter making it a lovely place to sit and enjoy the the winter sunshine or for al fresco dining in the summer.
There is a second reception room used for relaxing in the evening which becomes a very comfortable warm room in the winter, transformed from a shady, cool room in the summer, as it contains the central heating stove which burns ecological, economic compressed wood pellets. In addition to heating 9 radiators throughout the house the stove provides a flame and radiates heat into the room.
The house has 5 double bedrooms with the main suite on the ground floor, consisting of a spacious bedroom with handcrafted wall to wall built in wooden wardrobes. Lots of light floods into the south facing bedroom through double french doors which lead directly onto the patio. There is also an ensuite shower room.
Upstairs there are 4 generous double bedrooms, 3 of which incorporate a charming built-in white bed base and headboard in the traditional rustic style, and a family bathroom with “his and hers” washbasins and a hydro massage bath.
Outside: There is a 9 x 5m swimming pool with a sliding rigid cover that retains the heat and so extends the swimming period. In the heat of the summer the cover can be pushed back to transform it to an open air pool. The pool is surrounded by terraces and next to the pool is a lovely gazebo with a rustic table and 4 chairs which is perfect for relaxing on sunny days.
There is an equestrian area with a brick built shelter for 3 horses which could quite easily be converted into formal stables. There is also a sand school for exercising horses, close to the shelter and next to a mature almond grove with lovely views over the countryside. Adjacent to the house is a barn with power and water which could be converted to more stabling if required. Inside the barn are separate areas currently used as tack room, workshop and feed room as well as garaging and sleeping area for the dogs. There is also a large, brick built, garden shed, wood storage area and another smaller individual stable .
The land is mostly flat with plenty of grazing for horses or other animals and there are 200 productive olive trees, mature fig trees, almond and assorted fruit trees. One large paddock behind the house is currently used either for grazing or growing feed crops for the horses.
The property has mains electricity, and water is provided from its own well which is fed from a plentiful underground mountain spring and is locally reputed to open the appetite!.
This Finca warrants viewing to appreciate the stunning property and its unique and peaceful location “away from it all”, yet within 5 minutes drive of a lovely historic town.
